About This Piece
The old nursery rhyme is reborn as a storm-tossed sea song! Jason Meyer’s original text puts a crew on deck, driven by a pair of toms and a piano rolling in 12/8, with a descant lifting the closing refrain. Bold, dramatic, and achievable for school and youth choirs.

We’re drifting softly, the moon is watching as we drift at sea. The waves are rising, the storm is waiting, now we’re lost at sea. Rock, rock-a-bye baby as the sails fly high, we won’t lose our way though the storm winds rise. Rock, rock-a-bye baby as the waves crash by, we will not go down as the night draws nigh. The wind is howling as the waves keep rising. Will we make it home?
